Lead Times

Most of our products are either handmade to order, or restored in our workshops.  As such lead times vary per item.  Please check the product details and give us a call if your order is urgent as we can normally make sure it reaches you sooner.

We are currently working at a lead time of around 4-6 weeks, and we aim to have your light dispatched within this time.

Bespoke lighting that is custom made for you, can take from 6 – 8 weeks to design, create and send to your door!

Please check the technical information on the product page of your item for more details on the lead time for the specific light.

Next Day Dispatch

Products that are available on 'Priority Delivery' will dispatched the next day if the order is placed before 11pm. This excludes orders made on Fridays which will be dispatched the following Monday. Please allow extra days for shipments outside of the UK.

Next Week Dispatch

Products available on 'Next Week' dispatch take slightly longer to get ready to ship out, as they need to be made up in our workshop. Lights in this section will be dispatched one week after the order is placed.

Worldwide shipping

Outside the UK, we will be delighted to research and quote for various shipping methods for your chosen items, or to follow your instructions to use your own shippers. Please note that we are not liable for the collection or payment of any customs charges or local taxes payable outside of the UK. These are the responsibility of the purchaser.

EU shipping

Following the UK leaving the EU, VAT and Customs may also apply to EU orders.  However, we are working to ease this situation for our EU clients.  From 01 April 2021, orders shipped to EU countries will be shipped 'DUTY PAID'.  This means Fritz Fryer receive the bill for your VAT & customs so you will receive your goods without the need to pay any additional charges from the amount paid when you place your order.  You will see a charge on your invoice for prepaid duties which is in line with the amount of UK VAT, meaning that we charge you the same as our UK clients and we pay any addition costs.

Need your order sooner?

We need to specify lead times to give people and idea of when to expect their products.  We err on the side of caution and would hope to be able to send out most orders well within the stated lead times.  Please give us a call if your order is urgent, we may well be able to send it to you sooner.

Tracking your parcel

If you have supplied an email address or mobile telephone number, you will receive an email or text when your parcel is collected from us.  You will then receive a message with your one hour delivery slot on the day of delivery.  At this point you can reorganise the delivery directly with DPD if necessary.

If we have posted your item via Royal Mail please call the shop for more information.  For overseas customers please contact us directly about your order as we use various shipping companies.


The "COMPANY" refers to Wallis-Smith Ltd, trading as Fritz Fryer Antique Lighting. The "BUYER" refers to the purchaser of goods and services.

The company endeavours to photograph all stock accurately and to provide accurate descriptions and dimensions. The Fritz Fryer showroom is open 6 days a week and we encourage customers to come and view our stock in person if they have any doubts as to fitness for purpose.

The company offers a money back guarantee on any items purchased via mail order that the buyer is not entirely happy with with the exception of bespoke goods (custom made for the buyer) by the company. Refunds will be processed with 10 working days of receipt of the returned items.

The guarantee is subject to the following terms:

  1. The goods are returned in the same condition as they were sent.  They must not have been installed or used.
  2. The company receives written notification (postal or email) of the buyer’s intention to return the goods within 7 days of their receipt and that the goods are returned within 28 days of purchase to Fritz Fryer, 23 Station Street, Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 7AG.
  3. The items returned must be well packed. Return postage is at the buyers cost and we strongly recommend you obtain proof of postage as we are responsible for your parcel only once it has been received by us.  Any loss or breakages will be the responsibility of the buyer and will result in the guarantee being void.
  4. We can arrange for a courrier company to collect the parcel from you providing you are able to print a shipping label. There is a charge for this service (variable depending on size and weight of items being returned).
  5. Any products modified at the request of the buyer and bespoke items cannot be refunded.
  6. We do not accept returns on international transactions.

What if an item is faulty?

  1. In the rare and disappointing case of a faulty item please contact us as soon as possible so that we can arrange repair, replacement or a refund for you.
  2. We will refund any postage paid with your order and reimburse you for standard return postage on the item.  We can arrange to have the faulty item collected within the UK mainland free of charge, providing you have the ability to print a shipping label.

This is in addition to your statutory rights.
