How do you hang pendant lights on a sloping ceiling?

We are often asked about installations for ‘difficult’ ceilings. Where a sloping ceiling is involved we tend to recommend that our customers keep it simple and fit the ceiling plates straight onto the ceiling at an angle, allowing gravity to take over and the pendants to hang straight down, as you can see below.

We often see installations where a triangular wooden pattress is mounted onto the ceiling to allow the pendant to be hung straight.  There is no harm in installing your pendants in this way, but it does somewhat over complicate the installation and the team at Fritz Fryer all prefer the simple approach.
