Cluster Pendant Lights

Our curated selection of cluster lights offers something for every style and setting from elegant cascades to bold, modern arrangements.

A cluster pendant does what one light cannot: it gathers several pendants at different heights from a single ceiling point, turning one fitting into a centrepiece with depth, movement and real presence. Over a dining table, in a stairwell, above a kitchen island, a cluster is often the difference between lit and memorable.

Our cluster pendants are designed and handmade in our Herefordshire workshop, as we have done since 1982, in solid brass and proper glass. The range runs from the Pixley extra small cluster for corners and tables to the Hereford Globe Multi Pendant in five to nine lights, the Upton staggered cluster, and the Herefordshire staged cluster for stairwell voids, up to nineteen lights.

Made to order is where clusters really pay off: light count, spread, drop and finish are all set to your room. Send us your table or void dimensions and photographs and we will recommend the arrangement honestly, including when a smaller cluster, or a single pendant, will serve you better.

What is a cluster pendant light?

A cluster pendant light gathers several pendants at different heights from a single ceiling point, creating one centrepiece with depth and movement. Fritz Fryer cluster pendants are handmade to order in Herefordshire, from three-light table clusters to nineteen-light stairwell cascades, sized to your space.

Where do cluster pendant lights work best?

Clusters work best where one fitting must make the moment: over dining tables, in stairwell voids, above kitchen islands, in double-height halls. Anywhere a single pendant would look lonely and a chandelier too formal, a cluster is usually the answer. We can advise from your room dimensions.

How many lights should a cluster have?

Match the count to the space: three to five lights for corners and smaller tables, five to nine over dining tables and islands, and eleven to nineteen for stairwells and voids. Because our clusters are made to order, we size the arrangement to your measurements before we make it.

Can cluster pendants be made to fit my stairwell?

Yes, that is where made-to-order clusters earn their keep. Tell us your void’s height and footprint and we will set the light count, spread and drop to fill it properly, with staged drops that carry the eye down through the space. Send photographs and measurements and we will recommend.

Can cluster pendant lights be dimmed?

Yes. All our clusters take LED bulbs and dim normally with dimmable LEDs on a compatible dimmer, so a big cluster can run bright when needed and glow low in the evening. We can recommend bulb and dimmer pairings for each fitting.

How do you change bulbs in a cluster pendant?

Simpler than it looks: each pendant in the cluster hangs individually, so bulbs are changed one at a time, and we recommend long-life LEDs so the job is years apart. For high stairwell installations we will discuss access and drop lengths honestly before you commit.

Can cluster pendants be customised?

Yes. Every cluster is made to order in our Herefordshire workshop, so light count, drop, spread and finish are all set to your room, and globes or shades can be mixed within a design. Tell us what the space needs and we will quote before we make.

How much do cluster pendant lights cost?

Clusters are priced by light count and drop, from attainable three-light arrangements to large stairwell cascades. What you are buying is a fitting sized exactly to your space, handmade from solid brass and proper glass, and built to last decades rather than seasons.
