We fondly refer to this fabulous chandelier as 'The wedding cake'. This Regency chandelier is attributed to John blades est. 1783 - 1829. The multiple tiers of the ormolu frame have equisite hand pinned crystal rule-cut faceted drops.
There are 8 external gilt arms and 8 internal arms, lighting up the inside and outside. Hobnail cut candle pots and cut glass bobeches sit elegantly around the lower drop frame.
The refraction provided by the crystal is eye catchingly beautiful. It is certainly a remarkable statement piece. Fit for a grand drawing room or stairwell.
It has been sensitively and expertly hand restored on site here at Fritz Fryer.
All the lights in our Antique Lighting Collection are original pieces which are hand restored by craftsmen in our onsite workshop. We use only the highest quality components in the rewiring & repair of our antique lighting and employ traditional techniques.
Cleaning: A regular dusting with a soft cloth should be sufficient to keep your chandelier clean. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they will damage the finish of your antique light fitting. See more advice on cleaning crystal chandeliers here.
