The Princes Arcade in London’s Piccadilly recently underwent a full refurbishment and the Art deco 1930s lanterns needed some TLC. The lantern restoration was completed in our workshop.
It was a while since the original black Deco lanterns had seen any repair or restoration (if ever) and they were looking rather tired. In addition the architects were looking to acheive a fresh look for the famous shopping arcade, whilst maintaining the important heritage of the location.
The steel frames were stripped, primed and powder coated to a RAL specification provided by the customer. The final result retains the classic style of the Art Deco lanterns, but certainly offers a more contemporary feel have been given a simple, light finish. I hope you agree that the finished result looks fantastic.
