Being our most popular contemporary fitting, the Hereford Globe takes its name from our closest City. It is a simple, clear glass globe made from glass hand blown in the UK. This versatile shade looks fantastic on our twisted flex pendant set with a squirrel cage bulb for maximum retro appeal, or with a low energy bulb for a highly modern look.
This modern contemporary pendant light is popular hung as a cluster at different heights, creating a real centrepiece to any room. The globe is also available in ribbed glass, which when lit creates a great pattern of light in the room.
Hereford is a cathedral city in the county of Herefordshire located 16 miles east of the border with Wales. Found on the River Wye, the name Hereford is thought to come from the Anglo-Saxon "Here" meaning an army of soldiers and "ford" a place for crossing a river, suggesting Hereford was a place where armed men crossed the Wye. It is now widely acknowledged as a trading centre for argriculture as well as an exporter of cider, beer and cattle.
Fritz Fryer Collection lights are made using high quality, components and twistflex pendant sets. Our designer lights are handmade in our workshop in Herefordshire, UK where we endeavour to produce functional, traditional and contemporary lighting for country cottages and period homes as well as contemporary apartments and modern builds.
