With the spirit of good old Blighty within us we couldn’t resist sharing this fabulous photo of Antarctic explorer Sir Robert Scott sharing a meal with his Terra Nova team members, celebrating his last birthday during their fateful expedition to the South Pole. Their table is laden with food and drink, decorated with Engish and British flags, and we spotted our very own soda syphons merrily joining in! We are going to assume that Scott was planning on converting these bottles into table lamps upon his return to Blighty, but alas his plans were scuppered by the blasted sledges breaking down!
“I say chaps, these soda syphons would make great table lamps!”
Natural History Museum who have a new exhibition on charting the scientific findings of the Terra Nova Team, it looks fab actually.
If you would like to keep company with great British explorer Sir Robert Scott, why not buy one of our original converted wire wrapped Soda Syphon table lamps, they really are the choice of a distinguished fellow!
